I was wondering how many people understood the cartoon on January 14th? and I quote " Isn't it weird how you glance briefly at the face on the cover, but then start reading from the back?
My wife and I call this "Our dog is checking references"

Love the cartoons you produce.

I feel thrilled that the Internet has enabled me to discover cartoons and comic books that are so addictive, fascinating and thoroughly enjoyable. Very recently I discovered and fell in love with "Jane's World" and through Paige Braddock's blog arrived at yours and now I'm hooked on "Rhymes with Orange" cartoons as well.

Just wanted to add that I stared, mesmerized, at your Intern's animation entry for ten minutes before I could tear my eyes away. One word - "brilliant"!

Catching up on my backlog of Rhymes With Orange. This one caught my eye - may be because it took me a little bit of time to catch up with the antlers/horns :)

Dear Hilary,

Your comic strip of 12-19-09 reminded me of a story my dad told. In Adolf Hitler’s Nazi Germany it was against the law for a person to change his name. This was to prevent Jews from hiding their identities. A man went in front of a magistrate and said, “I have to change my name.” The magistrate said, “That’s against the law.” The man kept pleading, “I can’t tolerate my name any longer.” The magistrate finally asked, “What is your name?” The man answered, “Adolf Nachttopf (chamber pot).” The magistrate was sympathetic and asked, “What would you like to change your name to?” The man answered, “Rudolf Nachttopf.”

Sincerely,

Norma Frey

This is so funny! I love this cartoon, and I believe it's important to be able to laugh at yourself. I'd bet al Gore thinks this is funny too.
